Through strategic advocacy, networking and outreach, HFFG works with a number of partners.

We engage with national and local government authorities to ensure accountability, transparency and a commitment to use funds towards critical issues facing women, youth and children.

HFFG develops deep engagements with diverse community members across Ghana and traditional leaders, influencers and service providers including queen mothers, chiefs, community activists, media producers in television, radio and news, health workers and education advocates. Our outreach initiatives are designed “to meet the people where they are” and include community durbars, sensitisation meetings, house to house educational sessions and medical screenings, educational sessions at religious centres, one-on-one counseling, stakeholder and orientation meetings, small group discussions, mentorship, dusk to dawn radio broadcasts, school clubs, drop-in centres, art/drama/sports events and film screenings.

We sustain communication with other civil society organisations working on similar issues to increase solidarity by sharing lessons and solutions. HFFG also advocates among CSOs about ways to increase African philanthropy platforms and investing in women’s leadership in executive positions within these organisations.

HFFG also maintain relationships with bilateral and multilateral funders, networks and agencies to increase awareness and recognition about the work of CSO sectors in Ghana and to amplify resource mobilisation for programmes and projects that demonstrate impact.

HFFG’s capacity building interventions, trainings and facilitations take a range of shapes depending on the engagement, needs and context of our programmes and projects. We provide capacity building to community project participants (including peer educators and community ambassadors), traditional leaders and influencers, government officials, religious communities, parents of youth, media producers and presenters, CSO colleagues, health care workers, educational advocates, and other service providers, among others.

These initiatives in capacity building include trainings, workshops, seminars and social behaviour change communication in economic empowerment, livelihood skills, nutrition, prevention of diseases, water sanitation, sexual health and reproductive health, maternal and child health, violence against women and girls, gender roles and stereotypes, women’s human rights, substance abuse, school and career guidance, leadership, resource management and allocation, monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy and communication campaigning.

HFFG believes that having solid Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks are critical to ensuring successful results to programme and project objectives.

By building comprehensive data tracking and collection tools, we sustain our learning practices and understand better what is working and what is not. This helps to measure our progress against outcomes and to improve the quality of our relationships with community participants, stakeholders, partners and donors.

We work with government representatives at national and local levels to maintain focused plans and goals towards reaching the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and to recognise the cooperative investments that CSOs are making to meet these targets. We help to build the capacity of communities in regions across Ghana to enhance citizen oversight and political fortitude through Strengthening Accountability Mechanisms that hold duty bearers responsible to allocating designated resources for community needs.

HFFG also works with other CSOs and community-based organisations on expanding accurate practices in tracking and data collection as a means of sharing lessons and solutions and improving ongoing monitoring, evaluation and learning in programme management; beneficiary mapping identification, tracking and impact collection; and strategic communication of these results.

HFFG uses innovative strategies, technology and cultural sensitive programming in implementing social and behavior change communication interventions in health, education and socio-economic programmes that target women, children and young people including persons with disability.
