Celebrating 20 years of women-led, community movements at Hope for Future Generations

Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) is a national, community based, women and children-focused NGO, established in June 2001 through the visionary leadership of Founder and Executive Director, Cecelia Senoo, a veteran public health nurse, midwife and social worker.

HFFG works in five (5) major areas of focus: Health, Preventable Diseases; Sexual Health + Reproductive Health (SHRH) and HIV/AIDS; Women’s Economic Empowerment; Disability Rights; and Violence against Women + Girls (VAW&G). The organisation approaches these focus areas through the strategic approaches of Advocacy, Networking and Outreach; Capacity building interventions, trainings and facilitiations; and Monitoring and evaluation, data tracking and collection.

HFFG’s transformational approaches to community mobilisation, participatory decision-making processes, and women and youth leadership has made a critical difference in developing government accountability, equality, respect and dignity for marginalised communities. The organisation is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, the highest decision making body of HFFG. The Board formulates policies, approve the organisation’s expenditures and monitors the implementation of all projects. The organisation works in West Africa, specifically, the ten (10) regions of Ghana and Lome, the capital of Togo. HFFG’s head office is located in Accra with six (6) regional offices across the country.
